Dr. De Jesus was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She completed her bachelor degree in Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Campus and her Master in Public Health-Epidemiology at the University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences Campus. She moved to Guadalajara to pursue her dream of becoming a physician at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. While completing her medical degree she did her pre-internship year in New Jersey where she fell in love with Family Medicine and taking care of the whole family. She moved to San Antonio to complete her residency at UT Health. She developed a great connection to the area and decided to practice and serve the San Antonio community and raise her family here. She has participated in humanitarian causes as a volunteer physician in missions to Mexico and Santo Domingo. She has published an article in a journal and is an author in a medical book. She is taking leadership courses and has presented multiple quality improvement projects in different conferences throughout Texas. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. De Jesus is fluent in Spanish and English. She is passionate about preventive care and wellness. She is currently pursuing a certification in obesity medicine. She believes that the family medicine doctor, as the first point of contact in healthcare in many cases, is capable of establishing a long-term relationship with the patient and provide comprehensive and holistic care.
